Reporting to the Learning and Development Director, the Learning and Development Assistant is responsible for supporting the L&D team in the execution of department related projects as well as L&D related logistics & operations. Split between office-based and the field, percentage fluctuating based on time of year, the Learning and Development (L&D) Assistant’s responsibilities will entail 10-15 hours of work per week with higher hours typically required between the months of May and September.
Field-based responsibilities include, but are not limited to, setting up welcoming and effective training and presentation environments, supporting presenters and trainers with logistical/operational needs, and delivering/picking-up programming materials or equipment. Office-based duties include, but are not limited to, L&D related inventory/organization, research, and resource creation. Focus of responsibilities shift based on time of year.
In short, in partnership with other members of the site, the Learning and Development Assistant works to ensure that the L&D Department is able to provide impactful, efficient, and effective learning experiences for City Year San José Staff, AmeriCorps Members, and students that we serve.
Learning & Development Logistics and Operations: Support the execution of AmeriCorps Member learning, training, and development. Prioritization of duties will vary based on time of year.
Learning & Development Projects: Assist L&D team in the execution of department related projects. Prioritization of tasks/projects will vary based on time of year.
