DUTY SCHEDULE: 12 Months, including some school holidays, weekends and evenings, and appropriate emergencies


For more than 15 years, KIPP Austin, KIPP Dallas-Fort Worth, KIPP Houston, and KIPP San Antonio have put thousands of KIPPsters on the path to and through college. Last year, we collectively educated over 25,000 students in more than 50 schools, covering a geographic area of over 400 miles. Our regions have a long history of informal collaboration with teachers and staff members sharing ideas, curricula, professional development, facilities, finances, end-of-year field trips, and more. As of the 2018-2019 school year, all KIPP schools in Texas join forces as KIPP Texas Public Schools, a state-wide network of schools dedicated to supporting students to and through college!
The Opportunity
The FCC is responsible for outreach, community engagement, and implementing an annual student recruitment plan that aligns with our organization's student enrollment goals during a period of rapid expansion. This person will work closely with the school and operations teams to collectively recruit and enroll new students. The FCC will execute student enrollment efforts by providing strategies to the school based teams on how to achieve the enrollment process, partnering with the Marketing & Communications team to create communication materials, and represent the region externally at community events.
To be successful in this role, a FCC brings a track record for designing and implementing successful recruitment and marketing strategies; and experience building and maintaining relationships with community members and partners. A FCC should be comfortable working in an environment that requires you to juggle multiple priorities and competing deadlines, while never losing sight of the overarching goals and desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Student Recruitment (hit our numbers)
  • Project manages student recruitment and enrollment at the respective campus
  • Recruits and orients volunteers for the purpose of accomplishing assigned functions and activities
  • Develops and leads a campus-wide recruitment committee comprising of various school staff functions
  • Works with school leaders and school staff to plan school-based open houses, enrollment information meetings, tours, other recruitment events
  • Coordinates off campus events such as Block Walks, attendance at highly visible community events, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Advocacy and Marketing & Communication departments to share upcoming activities and help potential families learn more about KTX
  • Raises awareness of the school through planning and hosting events and engaging families in conversations about the school's mission and vision
  • Tracks and analyzes all data regarding student recruitment benchmarks and goals; applications, first day enrollment, waitlist
Community Engagement (build win-win local partnerships, promote the school, promote community programs which can help our families)
  • Represents the campus at important community events, fairs, festivals, to bolster enrollment and promote the schools
  • Proactively reaches out to key community influencers and organizations to tell the KTX story and build a community network
  • Raises awareness of the school through planning and attending events and engaging community members in conversations about the school
  • Distributes marketing materials to community partners and schedules information meetings at their sites or accessible venues in the community
  • Actively seeks out new community partnerships for the campus based on the needs of the schools and community organizations; coordinates activities for our families and students in time of need (food pantries, recovery fairs, etc.)
Parent Engagement (Increase parent involvement, increase family customer satisfaction of the school, receive parent input, build strong parent rapport)
  • Raises awareness of the school through planning and hosting events and engaging families in conversations about the school's mission and vision
  • Coordinates with the school's KIPP Parent Organization/ Association
  • Coordinates parent programs; literacy, English learning, immigration basics, etc.
  • Works with Advocacy to implement programs which connect to families and the community
  • Helps promote school activities which allow families better get involved in their child's education
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;
  • Job related experience with recruitment-related work preferable in a business, nonprofit, education, community engagement or advocacy organization
  • Strong cultural competency skills, including the ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse population
  • Strong planning and project management skills, with an ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an energetic attitude; ability to successfully engage, cultivate, and steward relationships with community members and organizational partners effectively and quickly build rapport
  • Excellent English and Spanish written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly-motivated and self-starter / self-directed learner with a "whatever it takes" attitude to work independently and as a team player
  • Unquestioned integrity and commitment to the KIPP Texas mission and community
  • Service-oriented, able to adapt to a changing environment while applying flexibility to work under pressure and remain calm in the midst of competing demands
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Google applications (Sheets, Docs, Google Drive), with the ability to quickly learn new technologies (SchoolMint, Slack, video conferencing apps, etc)
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel between campuses and to and from community events / meetings
Compensation and Benefits
Salary is based on years of experience, degree of education, and level of expertise. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
