Data Evaluation and Analysis

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Talent Data Analyst will be responsible for creating descriptive, diagnostic and predictive analytics through visualizations and storytelling. The Talent Data Analyst develop key metrics, uncover vital insights and deliver critical analysis that will lead to data-informed decisions and guide our overall human resources and talent management strategy. The Talent Data Analyst will report to the Managing Director of Talent.
A data analyst’s work falls into three interdependent categories:
Leads efforts to ensure data integrity by identify data sources, determining data needs and gaps, and preparing data for use
Performs regular data quality control processes; resolves data quality issues in partnership with colleagues
Comfortable learning various systems and navigating how to access, organize and analyze data
Maintain and manage data related to KIPP DC’s employees including people data to inform talent practices and organizational decisions.
Data Analysis, Application, and Action
Conduct analytical work using outputs from KIPP DC’s HRIS and other organizational data platforms.
Translate data into relevant insights and implications relevant to a given audience. Anticipate and empathize with stakeholder reactions.
Regularly monitor key metrics and report significant changes or trends.
Design, implement, and monitor the use of real-time data dashboards and platforms to support strategic talent decisions.
Seek feedback from teammates and end users to improve the product.
Provide training and coaching on tool use.
Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders in order to encourage questions and surface opportunities to provide support.
Assist in building capacity at headquarters to better use people data, analytical tools, and rigorous analyses to improve talent planning, retention, and employee engagement and satisfaction.
Exceptional attention to detail
Advanced skills with MS Excel.
Robust quantitative and analytical skills, including experience working with large datasets to derive insights.
