POSITION OVERVIEW
The Managing Director of Operations & Finance reports to the Executive Director and serves as a member of the T3 executive leadership team. The position is responsible for leading all internal operations which oversees Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology. The MD of Operations & Finance will provide personnel management, leadership, and strategy for the entire Ops department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Organization-wide Operations
Partner with the ED and leadership team to develop and implement a data-driven, organizational strategy and aligned goals to support the expansion of higher ed, secondary, and community partnerships.
Oversee the optimization of processes for talent acquisition, recruiting, training, and retention while leading the development of an inclusive, engaged work environment and culture.
Oversee critical cross-functional initiatives to drive the success, quality, timeliness, and costs of expected deliverables.
Ensure organizational compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and agreements regarding financial reporting and labor.
Directing the development and maintenance of earned revenue model in partnership with the Director of IT and other Managing/Senior Directors.
Support the Director of IT to ensure all software/tech needs are being met by third party vendors.
Finance
Develop annual T3 budget and analyze fiscal performance, making adjustments and recommendations where necessary to hit financial targets established by the finance committee.
Consistently perform financial analysis and modeling, gaining insight into unit economics, cost saving potential, and revenue gaps.
Collaborate with the development team to support the grant application process from application to reporting.
Prepare and present reports and updates to the Finance Committee, T3 board, and other stakeholders as required.
Prepare monthly budget reviews for all departments.
Team Leadership
Set department vision and provide strategic oversight to team leads and individual team members in the execution of the vision
Alongside ED, oversee growth strategy of the team, succession planning, and forecasting for future growth.
Coach, develop, and support all department personnel
Performs other duties and takes on projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
Master’s degree in a relevant field highly preferred.
Required Experience
5-7 years of professional experience working within a combination of business (HR, marketing, finance, or related), higher education, and/or K-12 education.
Experience managing direct reports; strong preference given to those who have managed managers.
Prior history of senior-level appointments leading financial departments and complex operational initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies
An understanding of public education and workforce development landscape in North Texas and how education initiatives correlate to post-collegiate performance and economic development.
Strong financial acumen and track record developing and managing 7-figure budgets.
A proven track record, both as a manager and peer, of navigating complex issues, managing multiple stakeholders, making timely yet informed decisions, and driving strong results.
Commitment to achieving rigorous goals on behalf of students.
Agility in adapting to change, thrives in a dynamic and ever-changing environment; creativity and innovative thinking skills to respond to emerging needs; an entrepreneurial spirit.
Ability to use data and technology to problem solve and set strategy.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position will require occasional travel throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding suburbs. In light of COVID-19, T3 is a hybrid work environment with the option to utilize our office space as needed and in accordance with T3 COVID-19 health and safety protocols. This position will require 2-3 in-office days per week.
