Rocky Mountain Prep is a growing network of innovative public charter schools, serving students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in the Greater Denver Area. Rocky Mountain Prep opened its first school in 2012 with 130 students and has grown to four schools, working with over 1,800 scholars across two districts. -Elementary: Pre-K Students show 1 year of growth

-Elementary: Kinder through 2nd Grade Students Grow 1.25 years in ELA and Math

-Elementary: 40% of 3rd through 5th Grade students meet their Millionaire Goal (1 million words read)

-Middle School: 40% of 6th through 8th Grade Students meet their Millionaire Goal (2 million words read)

-High School: 100% College Acceptance

Each member of the organization plays a part in achieving these goals. School-based staff members will work towards 2 or 3 metrics that are aligned to both their individual roles AND the Big 5. These metrics vary by position and are subject to change.

As an Assistant Principal of Instruction, you will be held accountable for two academic goals and one operational goal (i.e. attendance or persistence). Learn more about how you'll drive these goals in the list below.

Role Mission: Assistant Principals of Instruction (APIs) are instructional leaders who manage, coach, and develop the teachers at their school. APIs will monitor academic progress to ensure students are accessing appropriate grade-level content and provide teachers with the proper support and professional development they need to become strong educators.

SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Culture
    • Establish and execute systems and routines in order to create a safe, purposeful, and welcoming school environment.
    • Serve as the leader of the campus instructional coaching program, working closely with the Principal.
    • Lead highly effective, regular lesson planning clinics with teachers, facilitate debriefs and provide teachers with high-leverage feedback that is informed by student data.
    • Meet regularly with Grade Level Lead/Chair(s) to further develop their capacity to lead a positive and proactive grade-level team.
    • Collaborate with school leaders to design and implement excellent professional development.
    • Collaborate with school leaders to manage campus academic data, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), the campus-based English Language Development (ELD) program, and the redesignation of ELL students.
    • Ensure that students are safe and maximize learning time by upholding school-wide behavioral expectations, executing a school-wide incentive system for scholars, and supporting larger student discipline issues.
    • Provide daily leadership during community gatherings that set the tone for the academic program.
    • Serve as a key member of the campus-based Instructional Leadership Team.
    • Assist with student recruitment.
    • Communicate regularly and often with families to both solicit input and share student social, emotional and academic progress, while empowering teachers to do the same.
    • Ensure that students are safe and maximize learning time by upholding school-wide behavioral expectations, executing a school-wide incentive system for scholars, and supporting larger student discipline issues.
    • Consistently and effectively model revolutionary instruction and management strategies.
    • Serve as a key member of the campus-based Instructional Leadership Team.
    • Assist with student recruitment.
    • Communicate regularly and often with families to both solicit input and share student social, emotional and academic progress, while empowering teachers to do the same.
    • Development
    • Participate in Rocky Mountain Prep's Summer Training Institute as well as professional development throughout the school year.
    • Attend and participate in weekly staff and grade-level meetings.
    • Participate in regular instructional coaching meetings.
    • Additional Responsibilities
    • Collaborate and manage with the leadership team to implement standardized test administration and sure students with exceptional needs have appropriate access and accommodations for all assessments.
    • Required to provide onsite in-person support during all standardized test administration throughout the school year.

RMP Requirements

    • Minimum Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 3+ years of teaching experience; 2 years must be Special Education, Intervention, or ELD teaching experience.

    • Nice to haves
    • Speaks Spanish and has experience working with bilingual students (Strongly preferred)
    • Demonstrated success working with students of color (Strongly preferred)
    • Experience in Title I schools (Strongly preferred)
    • Experience in a charter network (Strongly preferred)
    • Experience working in a school setting with students with varied disabilities (Strongly preferred)
    • Speaks Spanish and/or has experience working with English Learners
    • Demonstrated success working with students of color

$86,000 - $110,000 a year

The salary range for this position is from $86,000 to $110,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

This role is also eligible for a performance bonus of up to 10% based on individual and organizational performance and goal attainment.
