About Zearn and the Role:
Zearn is seeking a Professional Learning Operations Director to lead the rapidly scaling Professional Development Operations team that supports hundreds of thousands of educators in leading math instruction that helps all kids love learning math. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing the professional development delivery system to successfully support teachers and administrators using Zearn Math in their classrooms. You will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and educational experts to deliver effective professional learning experiences. This individual will oversee each moment of the PD delivery flow: from booking and scheduling to its effective delivery, paying attention to crucial details that arise, considering the interdependencies and critical trade-offs needed along the way. The Director will coordinate the execution of a centralized scheduling system, tracking PD delivery, reporting, internal trainer readiness, and other projects throughout the customer journey. The Director also works closely with internal teams to identify the best tools to meet the needs of a changing landscape and to consolidate and streamline operations. The Professional learning Operations Director will develop and manage a team of excellent facilitators, led by 2 Lead Facilitators, providing clarity in their role expectations, and ensuring each facilitator precisely knows the content of Zearn and can facilitate in a way that is engaging and inspires hearts and minds.
Implement, manage, and refine an end-to-end booking system that allows Zearn Math to fulfill all contractual agreements, allow self-serve booking by partners, and assess the impact and effectiveness of the training experience
Managing the internal training system
Ensure our partners are able to schedule trainings with ease, trainer transportation is organized with ease, travel schedules are planned well in advance and communicated to all trainers and school administrators,, the system accurately marks the training in salesforce, and internal teams we have ways to check for accurate contract, billing, and delivery
Work with the Zearn team internally to ensure we are meeting contractual obligations
Look at survey data and constantly analyze what trainers are getting to impact, what survey data is strong, who is not getting strong enough survey data,l what does usage look like after our trainings at school, etc.
Work closely with the strategy and financial strategy teams to plan for PD scaling over the next few years
Create contingency plans to ensure the PD team is always prepared to deliver to Zearn’s partners
Research and recommend new tools to meet the needs of a changing landscape and to consolidate and streamline operations
Stay current on best practices for PD delivery
Serve as an expert facilitator and lead a variety of training sessions both onsite and virtually
Manage a growing team of 10-20 facilitators, including managers and facilitators.
Ensure appropriate supports are in place for ongoing evaluation and feedback
Monitor feedback to ensure all partners receive a best in class experience
Work closely with PD leads to coach facilitators
Set and enforce clear and transparent guidelines around role expectations and make frequent people decisions
Build nimble professional learning facilitators who can customize as needed in the moment based on factors such as audience, user case, and time
You bring 10 or more years of professional experience, including experience and skill in designing and facilitating professional learning and development sessions for educators, as well as demonstrated success as a classroom teacher, instructional leader, and educator.
You are skilled in people management, able to set and enforce clear and transparent guidelines and make frequent people decisions,
You are excited to lead and develop a team of facilitators and managers.
You can build a system end to end and meticulously cross t’s and dot I’s.
You are a hands-on leader who is comfortable rolling up your sleeves to lead high-quality professional learning sessions
You possess excellent verbal and written communications skills as well as dynamic, engaging, and effective facilitation skills.
Experience working with technology-enhanced instructional materials (experience with Zearn Math is a plus).
